Lois Jean Jones of Mukwonago passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at her home at the age of 88. She was born in Milwaukee on September 12, 1930 the daughter of Wilbert L. and Vida Helen (Tyson) Turner. Lois grew up in Granville, WI, attended Shorewood High School and graduated from Waukesha High School Class of 1948. On March 5, 1949 she married A. William “Bill” Jones, a lifelong Waukesha County Farmer; he preceded her in death on May 6, 2014. Lois worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for Waukesha Truck Sales and drove school bus while farming with her husband. Later in life she attended WCTC and became a nurse, working for River Hills Nursing Home for 20 years. Lois was a longtime member of Waukesha First Assembly, now Bridge Church and along with her husband enjoyed mission trips to Chile and Alaska.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Jean (Robert) Lindholm of Ishpeming, Michigan, Sue (Michael) Wollenzien of Mukwonago, William S. (Sue) Jones of Sullivan, Ann E. (Jerome) Oven of Pewaukee and James A. Jones of Mukwonago. Lois had 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren that she loved very much. She is further survived by her sister, Bonnie Turner-Fossum Zeman, brother Robert L. Turner along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 2:00PM until the time of the 3:00PM funeral service at Bridge Church, 1314 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Pastor Todd Pope will preside. Private burial will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Bridge Church (Address above) or ProHealth Home Care & Hospice, 2000 Pewaukee Rd. Suite C, Waukesha, WI 53188.
