Lorenz “Lorry” R. Land, age 69 of Waukesha died unexpectedly on Monday, August 1, 2022 while attending the EAA in Oshkosh, an event he loved. He was born in Milwaukee on December 24, 1952, the son of Oliver and Theresa (nee Pesits) Land. Lorry worked his entire career at St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee as a mechanic where he found joy in being able to help others and where he met his future wife Christine (nee Meller). Lorry and Christine were united in marriage on May 1, 2012. He was proud to have earned and hold his pilot license for many years and was a member of the EAA where he was the announcer for the helicopters. Lorry had many other interests and hobbies, including being a talented, passionate guitarist, deer hunting, camping with his wife, and always using his creative mind to fix anything he came across or put his personal touch on a great find from a flea market. He had a zest for life and could often be found in his cowboy hat and cowboy boots with a smile on his face, ready for his next adventure. Lorry was prayerful, always thankful and a member of St. William Catholic Church.
He will be forever missed by his loving wife, Christine Land; his two sons, Christopher Land (fiancée Sarah Hardy) and Michael Land (Celia Wynn-Gould); his step-children Michael (Melissa) Cosgrove, Adam (Rebecca) Cosgrove, Caitlin Cosgrove (fiancé Michael Worzalla), Holly Cosgrove (Taylor Harris), and Lindsay Cosgrove (fiancé Derrick Jeka); grandchildren, Morgan, Amelia, Joseph, Rylee and Charlie; and brothers and sisters, Maryann Land, John (Peggy) Land, Paul (Mary) Land, Rose (Dave) Fortney, Theresa Roznik, Edward Land, Phil (Gayle) Land and Liz Land.
