Louise M. “Louie” Flood, of Pewaukee, died Sunday, December 20, 2020 at the age of 91. She was born on January 13, 1929, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Herbert and Elinora (nee Schulz) Zirzow. On December 20, 1947, she married Kenneth Flood in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1999. Louie was a fun, spitfire woman who made everything into an adventure. She was the friendly neighbor who hosted all the neighborhood kids in her house, creating a safe place for them to play. She volunteered her time at the Milwaukee Veterans Affairs office, participated in ladies’ groups at St. Jacobi Church and was a member of the American Legion Post 537. She was a talented artist, creating beautiful paintings and melodies on the piano. She also was an avid and great gardener, earning herself the Mayor award. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter Christine (Frank) Tortorice, grandchildren Michael Tortorice, Amanda (Randy) Rosenmerkel, Tracy (Rodney) Clouser, Lisa (Michael) Hainstock, Maria (Nick) Morris and David Tortorice. Great-grandmother to Sami, Kayla, Jenna, Lucas, James, Isaac, Isabel, Evelyn, Nolan, Isabella, Ivy and Rex. She is further survived by her sister Doreen (the late Donald) Wenzel, and sister-in-law Viola Zirzow. In addition to her husband Kenneth, she is preceded in death by her brother Carl Zirzow and her infant baby boy Flood.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 13, 2020 from 10:00a.m. until the 11:00a.m memorial service at St. Jacobi (8605 W. Forest Home Ave. Greenfield, WI 53228). Celebration of life will follow services. Memorials in Louie’s name can be made out to the Alzheimer’s Association.
