Lucia Valdez

Lucia Valdez of Waukesha died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at her home at the age of 63. She was born in Mexico on December 13, 1952 the daughter of Jose Cruz and Maria Luisa (Urbina) Valdez. Lucia enjoyed sewing, knitting, flowers and gardening. Her family was her pride and joy and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She will be sadly missed by her loving children, Eva (Jose) Jimenez of Waukesha, Ruben Avila of Waukesha and Norma (Juan Ibarra) Avila of Milwaukee and her four grandchildren whom she cherished, Xiclaly, Azariel and Ahtziry Jimenez and Priscila Ibarra. She is further survived by her brother Daniel Valdez, her sisters Elia (Rafael) Meraz, Maria A. (Rodolfo) Meraz and Guadalupe Valdez along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Miguel Valdez.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. The funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to the family.
