Lucile Mabel Ekstrand (nee Poetsch), of Waukesha, joined her heavenly family, husband Carl “Tom”, son Terry Lee and granddaughter Shannon Mary Bowe on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the age of 96 years. She was born in Waukesha on July 1, 1917 the daughter of Herman Paul and Mabel (nee Blodgett) Poetsch. On February 18, 1939 she married Carl “Tom” Ekstrand; he preceded her in death on June 4, 2008. Lucile worked as a bookkeeper at Delzer Lithograph for 25 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and of the Waukesha Elks Lodge #400. She was a longtime member and volunteer at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church since her marriage. She was one of the first residents of Avalon Square in Waukesha and recently celebrated 10 years of residency there
She will be sadly missed by her daughter Deborah (Patrick) Bowe, grandsons, Shaun Patrick (Jacquelyn) Bowe and Ryan Thomas Bowe and by her great-grandson Jameson Patrick. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Tom, her son Terry and her granddaughter Shannon, she was preceded in death by her sister Catherine (John) Fauerbach, brothers Howard (Julia) Poetsch and Chester (Patricia) Poetsch and her parents.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 4:00PM until the time of the 5:30PM funeral service at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street Waukesha, WI 53186. Reverend Gary Liedtke will preside. Private burial will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Avalon Square, 222 Park Place, Waukesha, WI 53186 would be appreciated.
