Malinda Malison

May 24, 1949 — July 19, 2016

Malinda Jo Malison of Waukesha, died unexpectedly from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at age 67. She was born in Rockford, IL on May 24, 1949 the daughter of Maynard and Amy (nee Burkhalter) Nelson. On March 29, 1969 she married Michael Malison at St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church where she was a longtime member; he preceded her in death on August 25, 2014. She worked for Oak Hill Terrace for more than 30 years as a Certified Medical Assistant. Malinda enjoyed scrapbooking, watching Brewer and Packer games, traveling, taking scenic drives and going to the “show”. She would help anyone in need and always put others before herself. Besides her three children, she was a “mom” to many others. Malinda loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and will always be remembered as a loving mom and grandma.

She will be forever missed by her beloved children, Terri (David) Grochowski of Greenfield, Michael “MC” (Kimberly) Malison of Bayview and Jeffery Allen (Revel) Malison of Oconomowoc, her cherished grandchildren, Naomi, Hannah, Isaiah, Alexis, Riley, Ty, Cooper and Graham, her mother Amy Nelson of Waukesha and her mother-in-law Irene (Gerald) McKenzie of Mukwonago. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law Sandy (Jerry) Vines of Waukesha, Dawn Malison of Waukesha and Susan (Warren) Meyer of Wilmont, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Michael, she was preceded in death by her father Maynard Nelson, her sister Deborah Helser and her father-in-law Charles Malison.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until time of the 11:30 a.m. funeral service at St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Pastor Andy Fetters will preside. Entombment will take place Friday afternoon at 1:15 p.m. at Prairie Home Cemetery, 605 S. Prairie Ave., Waukesha. Please meet at the cemetery entrance off of Prairie Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Malinda’s name are appreciated to St. Mark’s Ev. Lutheran Church, to the American Heart Association, 1555 N. RiverCenter Drive Suite 212, Milwaukee, WI 53212 or to the family.
