Margaret “Marge” I. Farner, of New Berlin, died on Thursday, April 30, 2015 surrounded by her family at her residence at the New Berlin Regency at age 94. She was born in New Berlin on February 5, 1921 the daughter of George and Isabel (nee Biwer) Byrne. On June 14, 1941 she married her beloved husband Conrad Farner; he preceded her in death on May 13, 2008. Margaret worked for Schuster’s Department Store from 1946 until 1965. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church and for the past several years was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a member of the Waukesha Elks Ladies, the Golden Agers and the VFW Post #4716 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing Sheepshead at the Regency but most of all she loved being with her family.
She will be dearly missed by her children: Conrad G. (Michaele) Farner of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Marjorie Ann (Jerome) Wegner of Elm Grove, Robert E. (Mary Ann) Farner of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and Barbara Jean (Stephen) Laedtke of Waupaca. She was the dear grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends at the New Berlin Regency. In addition to her husband, Conrad, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James (Elizabeth) Byrne, Francis (Sally) Byrne and Howard (Evelyn) Byrne.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 4:00PM until the time of the 5:00PM funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Private entombment will be on Tuesday at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials in Margaret’s name are appreciated to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
