Margaret H. “Peggy” Stachon, of Oconomowoc, formerly of Tucson, AZ, died peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born in Lafayette, IN, on December 6, 1931, the daughter of Ernest and Rose (nee Rheude) Scheetz. On September 6, 1980 she married Lawrence E. Stachon, he preceded her in death on April 16, 2021. Peggy was known to bake the best lemon meringue pies using lemons from their trees in Tucson. She received many nursing awards throughout her career in the operating room. She was also awarded Real Estate Seller of the Year. She enjoyed family, knitting, playing bridge, real estate sales, family, daily walks with her dog Bailey and being in charge of potlucks at the mobile home park in Tucson. One of her life’s passions was playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, taking them to countless rummage sales and having them for sleepovers.
She will be greatly missed by her children Richard (Shelly) Cook of Lawrenceburg, KY, Vicky (Robert) Schaumann of Hartland, Susan (Dave) Cisler of Waterford, Sharon Ponting of Fort Atkinson and Tony (Denise) Cook of Catoosa, OK. Dear grandmother of Rick Cook, Melissa Cook, Laura (Michael) Belcher, Darren (Amy) Schaumann, Katie (Joe) Czarnecki, Elizabeth (Mike) Hawes, Emilie (Mike) Wilson, Tim (Kitty) Cisler, Hobie Ponting, Jacob Ponting, Krystle Cook, Karla Cook and Karissa (Josh) Ralston. She is further survived by 20 great-grandchildren, her brother Robert Scheetz of Dodgeville, other relatives and her friends in WI and Tucson. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Patty, Jean and Betty.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 12:00 PM at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, W359 N8512 Brown St., Oconomowoc, WI 53066. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
