Marie B. Nichols

Marie B. Nichols passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025 at age 96 at her home at Linden Height in Waukesha. She was born to Joseph and Mae Schoenwalder of Waukesha on July 2, 1928. Marie and her husband Casey owned and operated the laundry and dry cleaners across from the YMCA on Broadway for 36 years until his death in July 1997. She then helped take care of her mother following the passing of her father in September 1997. Marie was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha for 40 years and was active secretary of the Altar Guild for 10 years. She was also secretary of the Women’s Club in Waukesha for 4 years. Marie enjoyed knitting things for family and friends, watching old movies, sending cards to family and friends and helping wherever needed. 

Marie is survived by son, Richard (Debbie) Nichols, daughter Lynn Nitschke, son Robert Nichols, sister Betty Sommers, brother Joseph (Maureen) Schoenwalder, 5 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and very good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Clyde “Casey”, sister Sally and her parents. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. memorial service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
