Marie “Mimi” A. Litschauer, of Waukesha, formerly of Texas, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the age of 55 years. She was born in Waukesha on November 22, 1957 the daughter of Gordon and Rosalie (nee Chiello) Berg. Mimi was a very experience and developed artist. Her desire to make fine art began in her youth, which included many classes in painting, drawing, ballet, and piano. Her parents inspired her and impressed upon her "the excitement for the unknown, the addiction for the new". After attending several college level art courses, Mimi realized that she belonged in nature (en plein air) and chose to study with several professional artists who were working "in the field." She moved from Wisconsin to the foothills of Colorado to surround herself with the most insightful and inspiring painters and sculptors living there at the time. Following her time in Colorado she devoted years and miles to gathering "on location" experience and explored our nation’s 10th largest National Treasure, Big Bend National Park in West Texas. Mimi recently returned to the Waukesha area in August 2012.
She will be sadly missed by her mother Rosalie Berg of Waukesha, her brother Mark (Diane) Berg of Waukesha and her sister Nancy (Todd) Potter of Waukesha. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews: Joel Berg, Molly Berg, Matthew Berg, Jessa Potter and Colton Potter, her special friends Sherri and Glenn Ritz of Delafield along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Gordon Berg.
Services will be held at a later date in Texas. Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral, Cremation and Preplanning Services is honored to serve the family. For further information, please call the funeral home at 262-547-4035 or visit our website at
