Marilyn A. Gonzales a longtime Waukesha resident was born to Eternal Life on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the age of 81. She was born in Milwaukee on January 10, 1935 the daughter of Edward and Mildred (nee Dixon) Corby. On March 3, 1951 she married Angel Cruz Gonzales; he preceded her in death on November 7, 2004. Marilyn was a woman of strong faith and longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society. Marilyn was a great cook but most of all she loved being with her family. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
She will be sadly missed by her 8 children, Joseph (Barbara) Gonzales of Waukesha, Carmen (Gary) Kolstad of the town of Ottawa, Jessie (Dale) Nickel of Waukesha, Anthony Gonzales of Waukesha, Julie Ayers of Naperville, IL, Michael (Rene`) Gonzales of Waukesha, Mary (William) Tewes of Muskego and Angela (John) Schmitt of Waukesha. She was the proud grandmother of Jason Gonzales, Joshua (Adam) Gorski, Michelle (Henry III) Gonzales, Kristin Kolstad, Andrew Kolstad, Lisa (Brian) Klick, Paul (Nikki) Mazurek, Alexandrea Ayers, Sarah, Gonzales, Andrea Gonzales, Michael Gonzales Jr., William Tewes, Shelby Tewes, Alissa Detaeje, Anthony Ripley, Madison Schmitt and John Schmitt Jr. and great-grandchildren, Courtney Kolstad, Henry Gonzales IV, Marissa Gonzales, Elijah Kolstad-Woods, Kendall and Aiden Klick, Amelia Mazurek, Emma Ayers, Nahlia Barborich, Liliana Gonzales-Lantz, Layla Schmitt and Sierra and Dylan Detaeje. She is further survived by her sisters Ruth Kent and Patsy (Larry) Kowalczyk, her brothers Dale (Karen) Corby and David (Maxine) Corby along with her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Angel, she was preceded in death by her son Rudy, her grandchildren Thomas and Suzanne, her brothers Richard, Earl and Eddie and her sister Florence.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of Waukesha Memorial Hospital and Seasons Hospice for the care and kindness extended to Marilyn and their family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the 7:00 vigil service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues on Thursday, September 29th at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186 for the 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass. Graveside services will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to the family or the charity of the donor’s choice.
