Mark E. Redner, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at his home in Waukesha, with his loving family at his side. Mark was born on November 17, 1944 to Charlie and Emma Katherine Redner, originally from Muskegon Michigan, but has been a part of our Waukesha community since 1982.
Mark moved to Waukesha to accept a promotion with Philip Morris USA where he had worked for 28 years. After choosing to leave the corporate world, he and his wife owned a bar and restaurant in the downtown community for many years. Neighbors Bistro was known as Waukesha’s own little “Cheers” where many people walked in as patrons and walked out as lifelong friends. He was proud to have been a part of the downtown community; inspiring many changes to our Downtown as prior President of the Downtown Association, and BID Board member.
Mark was preceded in death by both his parents and his sister Karen Schugars. Mark will be dearly missed by his wife and best friend Stephani; sons Brett (Signe) Redner, Craig (Rebecca) Redner, Gregory (Tiffany Witt) Redner; and his bonus son Ian (Stephanie ) Richlin. grandchildren, Morgan, Lily, Charlie, and Garrett Redner; sister-in-law, Dia Yeo; nieces and nephews, Megan (Ryan) Knudson, Gretchen Yeo, James (Susan) Schugars, Deb (Greg) Larsen, Jeff Schugars, John Schugars, and their children, and brother in law Jim Schugars.
A special thank you to the Seasons Hospice team, our Visiting Angels “Angels” Ellen, Donna & Sheree, the entire medical team at the Veterans Association Hospital specializing in ALS treatment, the local chapter staff and members of the ALS Association, and our greatest gift; Alvita. The battle against this beastly disease over the past 4+ years was made so much easier through their loving and caring support, and the support of his family, friends and Clergy.
This disease took away the use of every muscle in his arms and legs but never was able to attack his spirit, humor and love that he shared with so many throughout his life. Nor did it define his life. Mark was so inspiring to so many, and has left a place in their hearts forever.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 10th from 5:00PM until 7:30PM followed by a time for sharing at 7:30PM at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha.
