Marsha J. Shier Peterson

Marsha J. Shier Peterson, of Waukesha, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the age of 79. She was born on August 26, 1936 the daughter of Leonard and Rose (nee Thomas) Smith. Marsha enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who she loved dearly. She will always be remembered as a generous, caring, strong and loving woman who touched many lives.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Laurie (Tom) Heeren of Wind Lake, Janelle (David) Kroupa of Senoia, GA, Michael Shier of Waukesha and Jill (Jeff) Banks of Waukesha. She was the dear grandmother of Andrea (Brian) Carroll of Hogansville, GA, Rochelle Heeren of Vernon, Justin Banks of Waukesha, Jennifer (Jared) Shafer of Senoia, GA, Jon Shier of Waukesha and Cory (Jessica) Shier of Waukesha and great-grandmother of Abigail Carroll, Adalynn Shafer and Stella Shier. She is further survived by her siblings, Beverly (Frank) Tiffany of Athens, WI, Floyd (Loretta) Smith of Merrill, WI and Mary (Jerry) Hunt of Mukwonago, her step-children Diana (the late Gary) Hauser, Dan Peterson, Rick (Sue) Peterson and Bruce Peterson and their families along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas Shier and her second husband Clarence “Pete” Peterson.

Visitation will be held on Sat., September 26, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. memorial service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Burial will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
