Martha L. Brooker, of Waukesha, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at her home at the age of 88 years. She was born in Paducah, Kentucky on December 23, 1924 the daughter of George Ed and Bennie (nee Morrison) Meadows. On July 24, 1944 she married Wendell Brooker; he preceded her in death on January 5, 1995. Martha was a longtime employee of General Motors retiring after 35 years of service. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Waukesha for many years. Martha was a longtime Chicago Cubs and Kentucky Wildcats fan and loved reading, playing bingo, crocheting, and listening to southern gospel music. Most of all she loved her family to which she was very devoted.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Wendell (Sandra) Brooker of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, David Brooker of Marshall, Texas and Suzanne (Richard) Geske of Waukesha. She was dear Mimi to her five grandchildren, David Brooker, Kristin Brooker, Christopher (Rana) Brooker, Danielle (Paul) Bethoney and Jennifer (George) Klepacz, and special Mimi to her ten great-grandchildren, Joshua Brooker, Zachery Brooker, Damien (Little Mimi) Brooker, Isabel Brooker, Isaac Brooker, Wrece Bethoney, Landyn Bethoney, Kaycee Bethoney, Hope Davis and Gabriel Brooker. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Gwen Meadows along with cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Wendell, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Robert Meadows, Ethel Mathis, Fred Meadows, Richard Meadows, Laura Tucker and Betty Ray.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 4:00 until the 6:00PM funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Reverend Jim Carlson will preside. A private family burial will be held on Monday at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin.
