Mary Biwer

July 4, 1936 — April 6, 2011

Mary Ellen Biwer was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on July 4, 1936. She spent her childhood in Waukesha where she attended St. Joseph’s Grade School even though she told her mother that she really shouldn’t be going off to school because she was “too valuable around here.”  Her high school days were at Holy Angels Academy (now D.S.H.A.) in Milwaukee and she achieved an elementary education degree in 1958 from Mount Mary College, Milwaukee.  Mary Ellen started her teaching career in Green Bay but then moved to California and later on to Arizona.  After those adventures she returned to Waukesha where she completed 30 years of teaching in the Waukesha School System. Surviving are her sisters, Roseann (David) Tolan, Betsy (David) Miller, brother, John (Lynn) Biwer, brother-in-law Ralph (Linda) Choutka, sister-in-law Dorothy Hebard Biwer, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. The generosity and love Mary Ellen showed to her family members and students over the years truly made her very “valuable around here.”  Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 13, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI.  Services continue on Thursday with visitation at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188 from 10 :00 AM until the 10:30 Funeral Mass. The Reverend Curt Frederick will preside. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waukesha. Memorials may be made to St. William Catholic Church, or Mount Mary College.  "The family would like to extend a thanks to the wonderful people at LindenGrove Waukesha."
