Mary E. Calvano

Mary Edna Calvano (nee Sheridan), passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Franciscan Woods Nursing Home in Brookfield, WI at age 89. Born in Burlington, WI in 1926, she moved to Waukesha, WI at an early age and was a lifetime resident. Edna was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Edna was a 1944 graduate of Waukesha High School. She held various jobs as a secretary and bookkeeper and helped her husband start up his restaurant business, Tony & Bert’s Legion Lounge in Waukesha, which they operated over 25 years.

She is survived by her son, Patrick (LeAnne), grandsons Matthew (Marife) and Joseph (Diana), great-grandchildren Amber and Anthony Calvano and Jacob and Jasmin Magdaleno, great-great-grandson Matty Magdaleno, brothers Philip Sheridan and Christopher (Jude) Sheridan along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ethel Shenkenberg, brother, Les Johnson, and her husband of 57 years, Anthony Calvano.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Franciscan Woods for the exceptional, professional and compassionate care they provided Mary the past 5 years after she suffered a severe stroke.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 9:30 AM until the time of the 10:00 AM Memorial Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Mary Catholic Church (address above), Catholic Memorial High School, 601 E. College Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186 or a charity of your choice.
