Mary J. Lamp (nee Gourdoux) of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 68. She was born in Waukesha on May 14, 1950 the daughter of Vincent and Vivian (nee Roberts) Gourdoux and grew up in Pewaukee. Mary was a member of the Waukesha High School Class of 1968. On April 13, 1968 she married her devoted and loving husband Larry at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Mary loved to garden, bake, read just about anything, crochet, be outdoors and going up north and taking motorcycle trips with her husband. She had a great fondness for dogs and now joins in heaven her cherished dogs, Barney, Zeke and Butch. Mary had a generous heart, was always very thoughtful and would do anything to help others in need. She excelled at being the best wife, mother, sister and friend and loved her family more than anything. Mary will always be remembered for her gentle and quiet nature, her great sense of humor, and as a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend.
She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Larry of Waukesha and their two cherished children, Steven Lamp of Waukesha and Jennifer Solveson of Waukesha, her brothers and sisters, Jim Gourdoux (Ingrid Morris) of White Rock, New Mexico, Lou Ann (Mike) Newman of Waukesha, Buzz (Linda) Gourdoux of Dousman and Margy (Rick) Pearson of East Troy and her mother-in-law Alice Lamp. She is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Jeanne Lande.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the nurses and staff of Horizon Home Care & Hospice and AngelsGrace Hospice for their kindhearted, gentle and compassionate care provided to Mary and her family in her final weeks and days.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. A celebration of Mary’s life will follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials in Mary’s name are appreciated to Horizon Home Care & Hospice, 11400 W.
