Mary "Myra" (Née Boyd) Leverson passed away peacefully on June 16, 2016, age 90, on her own terms, on the 65th anniversary of her marriage to her college sweetheart, Leonard O., whom she now joins. Loving mother of Len (Susie) and Amy (Kris Obernyer). Grandmother of Trevor (Dr. Jennifer Kickendahl), Elizabeth, Emily, and Hannah. Survived by her sister Nan (Earl) Lehsl and brothers-in-law Carl Wege and Jack (Janet) Leverson, nieces Susie Brown and Barb (Don) Miller, their children, many Leverson nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Predeceased by her husband, parents, George and Jean Boyd, and sister Betty Wege.
Myra was born in Scotland and came to Milwaukee at age 2. She taught in Plymouth, Cudahy, and Shorewood before moving to Waukesha, where she taught homebound students and then at Butler and Central Middle Schools. She never let a scoop of ice cream go to waste, a grammatical error go unaddressed, or a baby go unkissed. She was treasured by all those who knew her.
A celebration of Myra's life will be held at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 200 Richard Street, Waukesha, Saturday, July 9, at 5:00 p.m., followed by interment in the church garden. Memorials to Southminster appreciated.
