Mary Ellen Rittler, of Waukesha, died on Monday, June 22, 2015 at her home at the age of 88. She was born in Louisville, KY on April 30, 1927 the daughter of Charles and Minnie (nee Guest) Rath. Mary was a 1945 graduate of Mukwonago High School. On October 4, 1947 she married Floyd “Wayne” Rittler and together they raised their family in Menomonee Falls. In 1989 they moved to Colorado to be closer to family living there, before returning to Wisconsin in 2009. Mary enjoyed knitting and sewing and was a seamstress for many people but most of all she loved being with her family.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Wayne of Waukesha and their children, Gary (Ivy) Rittler of Colorado, Jody (the late Gary) Hartley of Waukesha and Rebecca (James Lembeck) Tompkins of Colorado. She was the dear grandmother of Oakes Rittler, Payat (Anna) Rittler, Jonas Hartley, Benjamin (Julie) Hartley and Jessica Tompkins and great-grandmother of Holly, Emma, Tyler, Caleb, Eloise and Simon. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Carl, Jean and Mearl.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 11:00AM until the time of the 1:00PM funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Private entombment will take place on Monday at Arlington Park Cemetery in Milwaukee. Memorials in Mary’s name are appreciated to Disabled American Veterans, VARO Room 162, 5400 W.
