Mary E. Vega

Mary E. Vega (née Rodriguez) passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on November 2, 1941, in Texas to Miguel and Francisca (Rios) Rodriguez, Mary dedicated her life to creating a home filled with warmth, love, and tradition.

She found joy in life’s simple but meaningful moments - cooking meals that brought the family together, crafting and knitting blankets that wrapped loved ones in her warmth and sharing stories that kept family history alive. Though she cherished the comfort of home, she embraced new experiences later in life, traveling to Europe and seeing places she never imagined visiting.

But no matter where she went, home was always where her heart was, surrounded by family, laughter, and love.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Nick Vega II; her children, Nick Vega III, Nancy Vega, and Nadya (Timo) Hakkinen; and her siblings, Jesus (Dalia) Rodriguez, Guadalupe (Daniel) Ortiz, Irma (Julian) Ramos, and Mary (James) Rodriguez-Rohrer; as well as by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Her loyal feline companion, Boots Vega, will also miss her comforting presence. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Nicolette Vega in 2017 and her brothers Isabel, Jose, and Johnny Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held at Randle Dable Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186, on Friday, March 21st, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 818 N East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. Following the burial there will be a luncheon at 2:30 PM at Tuscan Hall, 409 Delafield Street, Waukesha 53188.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Mary by sharing a cherished memory. As she faced the challenges of Alzheimer's, memories became even more precious, and this book will serve to preserve the stories she could no longer hold onto. A memory book will be available at the funeral home for guests to write down moments, reflections, or stories that her family can treasure.
