Melvin “Mel” R. Ziegelmann, of Waukesha, died peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek at age 73. He was born in Waukesha on July 31, 1942 the son of Leo and Dorothy (nee Else) Ziegelmann. On April 4, 1964 he married Carolyn Butterfield at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church; she preceded him in death on March 21, 2008. Mel was a carpenter and worked for Lakeview Hospital, St. Camillus and retired from Carroll College. He enjoyed NASCAR and loved riding motorcycles, especially his Harley.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Lori (Dan) La Paz of Lake Mills, his son Brian Ziegelmann of Waukesha and his two grandsons Benjamin and Samuel La Paz. He is further survived by his sister Frances “Meg” Vermillion along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the 3:00 p.m. funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha.
