Michael “Mike” Robert Havey was unexpectedly called home with family by his side the late morning of Friday, November 29, 2024, at the age of 73. Mike was born February 22, 1951, in Milwaukee to Robert and Ruth Havey. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and continued his education achieving a master’s degree at Marquette University. Mike married his wife Holly, and they built their home together in Hartland and were happily married for almost 50 years. He worked for Allen Bradley for over 20 years, and MagneTek- in Menomonee Falls, retiring in May of 2024.
Mike and Holly enjoyed traveling together with their children over the years. He enjoyed spending time in nature walking and hiking through God’s beautiful creation. He was known to take the scenic route and was regularly found behind the camera on family trips. Mike was an active member of Whitestone Community Church in Oconomowoc where he taught Sunday School.
His greatest legacy was his eternal love and commitment to his wife Holly. As the father of Mikey and Danny he modeled what it meant to live a life of kindness, loyalty, and joy. His two grandchildren had a special place in his heart. He loved time with his family, playing golf, hiking, and indulging his sweet tooth. Mike was a devoted husband, loving father, and a cherished friend to many and will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, humor, humility, and patience.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Holly; sons, Michael (Sarah) Havey and Daniel Havey; grandsons, Michael Raymond (2) and Benedick (1); and siblings, Barbara Faber, Jeff Havey, and Kathy (Charles) Emmer. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Mike” and Ruth; uncle, Raymond (Pat) Havey; brother, Robert Havey; brother-in-law, William Faber; and nephew, Nick Emmer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 9:30 A.M. until the 11:30 AM Funeral Service at Whitestone Community Church, 2517 North Dousman Road, Oconomowoc, WI 53066. Following the funeral service and luncheon he will be laid to rest at the Gardens of Stone Bank Cemetery, Hwy K and West Shore Drive in Stone Bank. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to Love Worth Finding Ministries or Whitestone Community Church.
