Michael C. Hoffman Jr.

November 28, 1969 — July 19, 2017

Michael C. Hoffman Jr had the biggest and kindest heart. He would have given all he had to turn a frown upside down. He was always smiling, always joking, and he told stories that could lighten even the darkest mood. Residing in Lake Geneva, Michael passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the age of 47. Born in Fort Atkinson on November 28, 1969 to Michael C. and Christie (nee: Ginner) Hoffman, he grew up in the town of Rome. Michael graduated class of 1988 at Jefferson High School. One thing could definitely be said about him: he made friends everywhere he went and for him, friends were lifelong. His friends became his family. He was a dedicated member of Fox River Christian Church, and invited everyone to join him in Sunday praise. He found freedom in Jesus. If he could, he would wrap his arms around the world and try his best to save those who were hurting and in need. He helped all those he knew, but he also wanted to make a difference clear across the world and sponsor children in Africa. Not only was he OUR hero, he was a REAL hero, saving the life of a young boy from drowning in 2000 and receiving a Medal of Honor for it. His caring attitude and spirit led him to be an eye donor, one last act of kindness, so someone can see through his beautiful blue eyes. Michael had so many talents. He was a competitive bowler growing up and he was a world champion wrist wrestler for many years. He had a love for NASCAR, Fox News, and motorcycles...but NOT Harley Davidsons. His personality was magnetic. Children loved him and flocked to him. Michael could tell a story like no other and make a whole room laugh. But what he was most proud of was his daughter and being a father to her. Nothing could light up his face quite like her.
Anyone who knew Michael knew how much he loved and took pride in his work. If you were ever on a ride with him, he would point out countless houses and developments where he laid and erected the steel foundations. If you built a house around Milwaukee and southern Wisconsin in the last 27 years, he probably helped build it! He had owned his own company, Thrust, and worked for Victory Steel, Performance Freight, and currently for Tollefsen Steel and Fabrication. Michael worked hard and it showed in the excellent quality of his work. These places will never be the same without him.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Kayla Kiefer, his father, Michael C. Hoffman Sr., his mother Christie (Wayne) Siewert, sister Michelle (Jason) Hacht, nephews Cole and Drew Hebbe and Caleb Hacht. He is further survived by a step-sister Carrie Siewert, a step-brother Brandon Siewert, and his dear cat Toby Falcon. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many dear friends from everywhere loved Michael and will be missing this cheerful, kind-hearted man.
