In loving memory of Mirian Hidalgo of Waukesha, who passed away on August 19, 2023, at the age of 71, her vibrant spirit and zest for life will forever be cherished. Born on September 8, 1951, in Callao, Peru, Mirian was the daughter of Rafael Hidalgo and Exilda Perez. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mirian embodied an unwavering belief in the power of "yes you can." She fearlessly pursued a better life for her family, leaving her home in Peru to create new opportunities in the United States. Her dedication knew no bounds as she worked tirelessly, holding multiple jobs, shuttling her children to swim practices, and gracing her loved ones with the taste of delicious Peruvian cuisine. Mirian's strength and determination inspired those around her, and she instilled those same values in her children.
She will be lovingly remembered as the cherished mother of Miryam Janssen, Maria Mahmoudi (Corey Van Westen), Cristina Jensen (Levi Jensen), and Rafael Claudio Hidalgo (Jennifer Gavina). Mirian's legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Kimberly, Keenan, Markus Janssen, Dario, Cyrus Mahmoudi, and her great-grandchildren, Anastasia Mattei and Selene Janssen. She also leaves behind her brothers, Rafael “Chacho” Hidalgo (Sylvia Murguia), Javier Hidalgo (Marta Gatty), and Sergio Hidalgo (Morelia Gonzales), as well as nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Mirian was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Atoche, and her parents.
The family extends a special appreciation to Mirian's dedicated caregivers, with heartfelt thanks to her daughter Cristina, Ermy, and Ramona.
A celebration of Mirian's remarkable life will take place on Friday, August 25, 2023, at St. William Catholic Church, located at 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha.
