Nancy S. Abrahamson

Nancy S. Abrahamson a lifelong Waukesha resident died on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at her home at the age of 84. She was born in Waukesha on May 17, 1932 the daughter of Willard and Ethel (nee Barkow) Gagan. Nancy graduated from Waukesha High School in 1950 and was a proud graduate of UW-Madison where she received her bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy. On December 17, 1955 she married Ron Abrahamson at First Baptist Church where they were longtime, faithful members. Nancy worked throughout the Waukesha and Milwaukee area as a physical therapist including for the Visiting Nurse Association, Orthopedic Associates, St. Luke’s Hospital, Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and for private clients among other places. Following her retirement in 1988 she became involved with the Meditation Center and was a fellow with the Midwest Geriatric Education Center. Nancy loved her community and was an avid volunteer with the Waukesha Jaycettes, the Waukesha Training Center, the Waukesha Garden Club along with many other organizations. She loved to travel and along with her husband traveled across the United States and the World, with her most recent trips being to Ireland and Egypt. Above everything else, she loved being with her family and will always be remembered for her kind heart and generous spirit.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 60 years Ron of Waukesha and their children, Chris (Deb) Abrahamson of Viola, WI, Ann Abrahamson of Waukesha and Tim Abrahamson of Waukesha. She was the cherished grandmother of Josh and Matt Abrahamson, Pat and Erin Casey, Rachel Dubnicka and Rebecca Krengel. She is further survived by her brothers William (Claire) Gagan and Richard (Sara) Gagan both of North Carolina, her sister Marion Dwarkin of Maryland along with great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 12:00 noon service in honor of Nancy’s life at First Baptist Church of Waukesha, 247 Wisconsin Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186 (Corner of Wisconsin & Grand Ave). Reverend Gerry Krupp will preside. Private burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorial’s in Nancy’s name are appreciated to First Baptist Church or Doctors Without Borders USA, P.O.
