Nick A. Meola

Nick A. Meola, 91, of Waukesha, passed away on January 20, 2024 at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.  He was born in Waukesha, May 12, 1932, to Tony and Mary (nee: Scrima) Meola.  His father died when he was very young, and his stepfather was Jack Frost.  He graduated from Waukesha High School in 1950.  On May 14, 1955, he married Josephine (nee: Simonis) she preceded him in death in 2019.  Nick owned the Yellow Front Tavern and ran it successfully for over 30 years until his retirement when he sold the tavern.  Nick loved playing golf and watching sports, especially Brewer games.   He was a devoted Catholic and faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

He is survived by his children Mike (Peggy) Meola of Jacksonville, Florida, Steve Meola of Waukesha, Ann (Gary) Sanderson of Waukesha, and Joseph (Sherry) Meola of Manitowoc, grandchildren Jennifer (John Calvin) Cox, Alex Meola, Trevor (Erin) Stanton, Nicholas (Caitlyn) Meola, Madison Meola, Sofia Meola, and Shauna Pasbrig, 5 great-grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine and his brother Leonard. 

The family would like to express their gratitude to Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and Three Pillars Rehab staff for all they have done for Nick.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church 225 S. Hartwell Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186 from 10:00 AM until the funeral Mass at 12:00 PM.  Graveside services following the procession to St. Joseph Cemetery.  

Masses are appreciated at St. Mary Catholic Church.
