Norma C. Kiekhefer, a longtime Waukesha resident, died on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the age of 92. She was born in Oak Creek on August 25, 1922 the daughter of John and Clara (nee Hahn) Hauerwas. She was a 1940 graduate of South Milwaukee High School. On November 8, 1941 she married Lloyd Kiekhefer; he preceded her in death in 1978. Alongside her husband, Norma was a longtime dairy farmer. Norma was a faithful member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was active in the OWLS and a member of the Ladies Aide for 20 years. She loved playing cards and crocheting. Norma was known for her handmade Christmas ornaments which she crocheted for many people over the years. Her family was her pride and joy and she will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Joan (the late Virgil) Sharp of Watertown, Lloyd (Naomi) Kiekhefer Jr. of Waukesha, Allen (Linda) Kiekhefer of LaGrange, KY and Kathy (Ronald) Selchert of Waukesha. She was the dear grandmother of Dawn, Kary, Kris, Carol, Lloyd III, Bryan, Brenda, Ann, Dean, Tammy and Rick and great-grandmother of Zachary, Austin, Michael, Autumn, Wyatt, Jared and Jacob. She is further survived by her sister Emma Dick of Oak Creek, her brother Kenneth Hauerwas of Union Grove along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Lloyd, she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Hauerwas.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 4:00PM until the time of the 5:00PM funeral service at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Ave, Waukesha, WI 53186. Pastor Jason Hacker will preside. A private family burial take place on Monday morning at Prairie Home Cemetery.
