Norman F. Dunn, of Waukesha, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 98. He was born in Madison on October 18, 1916 the son of Daniel and Grace (nee Greb) Dunn. He was confirmed a member of the now, Evangelical & Reformed UCC in 1932. He was a 1935 graduate of Waukesha High School where he was very active in student affairs such as the student council, debate team and the drama club. He served 4 ½ years in the United States Army during WWII and earned a commission while serving in the Paratroops. On April 11, 1942, in Alameda, CA he married his longtime sweetheart Minnebel Dobbertin of Merton, WI. Norm was elected City of Waukesha real estate assessor in 1952 and he declined to take the office and a successor was appointed by the city council. He was employed at the Air Reduction Sales Company in Milwaukee for several years in both inside and outside sales. Norm retired in 1974 from Airco-Milwaukee Welding Supply where he had been a co-founder and manager. Minnebel and Norm wintered in Fort Meyers Beach, Florida for over 30 years where they had many friends. He was a member of the American Legion DJ Martin Post #8 since 1946, the E&R UCC and many senior golf clubs.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 73 years, Minnebel of Waukesha along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dan, Paul and Jack and five sisters, Florence Wiesenthal, Donna Falk, Dorothy Kohler, Helen Palmer and Virginia White.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 from 10:00AM until the time of the 11:00AM funeral service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Reverend Ralph Schultz will preside. A private burial for the family with full military honors will follow the service at Lisbon-Merton Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Evangelical & Reformed UCC, 413 Wisconsin Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186.
