Norman L. Johnson, formerly of Delafield, died on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Virginia Health & Rehab. Center at the age of 96. He was born in Wittenberg, WI on September 25, 1922, the son of George Alvin and Selma (nee Christiansen) Johnson. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, during World War II. He had delivered milk for Wern Farms. On December 3, 1949 he married Hazel Jones. Together they owned and operated Johnson Pest Control for many years. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion Magnus Anderson Post 399 in Okauchee. Norman and Hazel enjoyed many years of square dancing and numerous “backyard” picnics with many wonderful family, friends and neighbors.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Roberta “Bobbie” (William) Beardsley; granddaughters Kristin (Aaron) Schoenherr and Allison (Tabor) Baumli; great-granddaughter Hazel Rose Schoenherr; sisters LaVerne (late Ray) and Arlene; brother Harvey (Evie) and sister-in-law Esther. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Hazel on December 8, 2017, brothers Alvin, Phillip and Donald, sister Annette and sisters-in-law Doris (late Tony) Biever and Barbara (late Arthur) Hargrave.
Services will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Jerusalem Cemetery in Wales.
