Oscar H. Kopshinsky, of Waukesha, died on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family at the age of 85 years. He was born in Waukesha on November 8, 1927 the son of William and Adelia (nee Tessman) Kopshinsky. He was a 1944 graduate of Waukesha High School. Oscar proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1944 until 1947. On July 15, 1950 he married Elvira Stapleton. Oscar worked for Waukesha Cement Tile for 45 years retiring in 1990. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Elvira of Waukesha and their children, David Kopshinsky of California, Thomas (Donna) Kopshinsky of Mukwonago, Patricia (Amos) Hartley of Waukesha, Frederick (Lisa) Kopshinsky of Waukesha and Linda (Steven) Ruthenberg of Waukesha. He was the proud grandfather of Clint Kopshinsky, Vaughn Kopshinsky, Loni (Craig) LaChance, Michael (Kristin) Kopshinsky, Sonia Hartley and Hannah Ruthenberg and his great-grandchildren, Riana Kopshinsky, Gunnar, Olivia, Layla and Amelia LaChance, Angela Kopshinsky and Sydney Kopshinsky. He is further survived by his brother Ted (Judy) Kopshinsky, by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Shirley Kopshinsky, Ken Fuller, Connie Kopshinsky, Marie Stapleton, Walter Stapleton, Joanna (Bob) Webb, Geraldine Drews and Charlotte Spengler along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Charles, Paul, and William Jr. Kopshinsky and his sister Dorothy Fuller.
Visitation will be held on Thursday September 19, 2013 from 9:30AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:30AM at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186. Reverend Scott Oelhafen will preside. Graveside services with full military honors will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
