Patricia M. Barndt

d. November 8, 2016

Patricia M. Barndt of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Matthews of Pewaukee. She was born in Racine, WI the daughter of Russell and Martha (nee Duschak) Manchester. She was a graduate of Park High School in Racine, earned her Bachelor’s Degree in piano performance from Lawrence University, and her Master’s Degree in education from Michigan State. On August 23, 1952, she married Robert John Barndt; he preceded her in death in 1971. During the 1960’s and 1970’s Patricia was the music director for the Waukesha Civic Theatre, then located on Washington Avenue. For many years, she taught piano in her home and was the music director at Vernon Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Waukesha Symphony Auxiliary. Pat played the piano for countless weddings and funerals; and never said no to accompanying students for the state high school competitions.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Martha (David) Lewis of Oconomowoc, her son John (Sharron) Barndt of Waukesha and her grandsons Adam and Zachary Barndt. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law Carol Manchester and Jackie Manchester along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Owen and Edward.

Honoring Patricia’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held. Pat would be the first to tell you not to send flowers or money for a memorial. She would love for you to take a trip, learn something new, go to a music performance, or donate to someone in need.

Our family would like to thank our wonderful relatives and friends, and Pat’s great caregivers at Matthews of Pewaukee. Your kindness can never be fully repaid! Please know that Pat appreciated and loved you all.
