Patricia (Pat) Mulroy Parson of Waukesha died peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2019 surrounded by family. Patricia is preceded in death by her husband Joel R. Parson.
Patricia was born in Blackpool, England on March 5, 1942 the daughter of Bernard and Catherine (nee Blake) Mulroy. Our family is so deeply enriched in many ways through exposure to Patricia’s British heritage which included trips to England to spend time with family. We have so many fond memories of Patricia reading letters and showing photographs received from family in England.
Patricia met her husband Joel R. Parson of almost 54 years while he was stationed at the Air Force base in England. They were married on November 18, 1961 in Liverpool, England. In 1962, they decided to start their life together in Joel’s hometown of Waukesha, Wisconsin. Patricia devoted her time and energy to raising their three children. Patricia was always a selfless Mom who dedicated her life to her children. She will always be remembered best as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Joel and Patricia’s children and grandchildren deeply treasure and are grateful for a lifetime of rich memories.
Patricia’s compassion and concern for others was also clear from her chosen profession. Patricia worked as a vascular nurse at the V.A. Hospital. She was involved in the arduous process of earning certification for the V.A. Hospital’s cardiovascular lab. Patricia was dedicated to our Veterans. Patricia’s bond with our Veterans can be traced to her own understanding of the impact of war having lost her Father, Bernard Mulroy in World War II.
Patricia’s path to securing a nursing degree started out as an EKG Tech after earning her associate degree from the Madison Area Technical College. Patricia went on to earn an associate degree in science from U.W. Waukesha and finished her nursing program at the Waukesha Area Technical College. Patricia spent many of her early years working at Waukesha Memorial Hospital until Patricia settled in at the V.A. Hospital.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Kelly (Tim) Hazelton of Waukesha, Paulette (John) Brazil of South Milwaukee and Joel (Missi) Parson of Waukesha. She was the dear grandmother of Tim (Nicole) and Kathryn Hazelton and Krysta and Katelyn Parson. She is further survived by her sister Vera (Patrick) Blake-Kerry and brothers, Michael Blake and Joseph Douglas, John (Paulette) Brazil’s children Nick and Katie Brazil, sisters-in-law Joanne (the late Richard) Crooks of Waukesha, Jane (the late Nick) Hilt of Waukesha and Fran (the late John) Parson of Waukesha, nieces, Melissa Cashmore and Charlotte (John) Pell, great-nephew, Samuel Cashmore and special friend Angela Thompson.
Visitation will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery Chapel, 605 S. Prairie Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186, Friday, May 3, 2019 from Noon to 1:30 p.m. with graveside service and burial at 1:30 p.m.
