Patricia M. Chambers (nee Maher) of Waukesha passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the age of 89. She was born in Hamburg, Iowa on October 9, 1932, the daughter of Patrick and Mary (nee Bailey) Maher. Pat grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and married the love of her life, Gil Chambers and they raised 7 children together in Omaha and later in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Pat was devoted to her family her whole life and a devout Catholic and woman of faith. Her wisdom and wit made her a friend and relative that many sought counsel from. She loved reading, quilting, the theater and most of all loved music, particularly the symphony. She had a unique perspective and always saw the beauty in everything. Pat enjoyed games and was an avid bridge player who truly enjoyed the games with her friends at the Berkshire. She wanted her passing to be a celebration and for everyone to smile because when you smile at someone, they smile back. She had a beautiful impact on everyone she touched and always encouraged everyone to fake it till they make it through life. She lived life to the fullest and her motto was to be honest, be kind and always do your best. She was a light, the leader of her family and will be missed by many. The legacy she leaves behind will live on forever.
She will be sadly missed by her children Judy (Bob) Furey, Mary Manis, Patti (Bob) Tiedt, Matt (Denise) Chambers and Christine Chambers. She is further survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Patra Maher, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert, sons Joseph Chambers and Ben Chambers, daughters-in-law Sue Chambers and Leila Chambers, son-in-law David Manis and her siblings.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 9:00AM until 10:45AM with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM all at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waukesha. She will be laid to rest with her husband Gil at Wood National Cemetery in Milwaukee WI, on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 10:00AM. Memorials in Pat’s name are appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
