Patrick M. Vyhnanek, of Waukesha, died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Season’s Hospice at the age of 65. He was born in Chicago, IL on January 15, 1946 the son of Irvin J. and Mary (nee Dawson) Vyhnanek. Patrick graduated from Harrison Technical High School and then attended DePaul University and also studied at the College of Automation, the Control Data Institute, and various military schools. He proudly served in the United States Army from August 1963 until February 1969 serving in Augsburg, Germany; Vietnam; and in various stateside units. From 1982 until 1992 he served as an active reserve with the 478th Personnel Services Battalion. On July 17, 1993 he married Sharon Ross. Patrick worked for many years as a computer, business, and help desk consultant for AT&T. He was a member of the American Legion DJ Martin Post #8 and of the VFW Soat-Vergenz Post 721 and was affiliated with the Disabled American Veterans and Paralyzed Veterans of America. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sharon Vyhnanek of Waukesha, his children: Jeremy Vyhnanek of Aurora, IL, Jennifer Nickels, and P.J. Vyhnanek of Waukesha, twelve grandchildren, his father Irvin Vyhnanek of Chicago, IL, his sister Mary Rowe of Chicago, and brothers: John and Thomas Vyhnanek both of Chicago. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary and brothers Edward and Joseph. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 1:00 until the 3:00PM funeral service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI. Full military honors will follow the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Pewaukee.
