Paul A. Dusterhoft "Dusty" of Brookfield passed away at Waukesha Memorial Hospital on February 28, 2025 at the age of 90.
Paul was born on March 31, 1934, in Waukesha, to Herman and Regina (Backer) Dusterhoft. He graduated from Waukesha High School in 1952 and attended Carroll College. He married Barbara Congemi on January 8, 1955, in Waukesha.
After serving in the US Army for two years, Paul worked for the Wisconsin Natural Gas Company (now part of We-Energies) for 37 years. Following retirement he worked part time for Diversified Benefit Services until he was 85. He also volunteered at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for many years.
Paul loved to travel and to go camping. He and Barbara traveled (mostly by car) to each of the states except Alaska. They also visited Mexico, Canada, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France and the Netherlands, and they spent time in Florida every winter for 35 years. He also enjoyed attending sporting events, watching his grandchildren at countless soccer games as well as track, cross country, football, wrestling and lacrosse. In addition, Paul enjoyed playing Sheepshead, watching TV and he was an avid reader.
Paul was preceded in death by Barbara, his wife for 64 years, his parents, his brother Donald, his sisters-in-law Shirley Mosher, Patricia Congemi and Elaine Beaudoin and brothers-in-law Wilbur Kurtzweil, Laverne Mosher, William Beaudoin, and Richard Wohlers.
He is survived by his two daughters Pamela (Douglas) Ewing and Kathleen (Scott) Ciesielczyk, his six grandchildren Alyssa (Brandon) Schauz, Emily (Ben) LaCoursiere, Nicole (Nick) Knoke, Grace Ciesielczyk, Matthew Ciesielczyk and Mitchel Ewing and seven great grandchildren Evette, Margot, Remy and Chester Schauz, Lucille and Declan LaCoursiere and Illa Knoke. He is also survived by his sister Ruth Wohlers, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10 at St. John Vianney Parish (1775 N Calhoun Rd, Brookfield) from 9:30 a.m. until the memorial Mass celebrating Paul’s life at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery and Mausoleum (S22W22890 E Broadway, Waukesha) immediately following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s name to Hope Center, 502 N East Ave, Waukesha, WI 53186.
