Pedro Llanas

April 19, 1929 — October 17, 2010

Pedro Llanas, Sr. of Waukesha, gracefully left this world on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at his home with his loving family by his side.  He was 81 years of age.  He was born on April 19, 1929 in Lockhart, Texas, the son of Amador and Rosa (Balandran) Llanas.  He moved to Wisconsin from Texas with his family as a young boy, first living in Green Bay and later moving to Waukesha where he met his wife, Olivia Arreazola.  They married on June 23, 1951 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waukesha.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II where he was stationed in Japan for 3 years.  He retired from International Harvester, where he worked for 43 years.  He was a charter member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of D.J. Martin American Legion Post 8.  Both the Llanas and Arreazola families were featured in the book “ Latino's in Waukesha” as being among the first Hispanic families to settle in Waukesha. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 59 years, Olivia, along with their children Peter A. (Donna) Llanas of the town of Genesee, Irene Llanas of Waukesha, Ray (Molly) Llanas of Waukesha, Dean (Sue) Llanas of Waukesha, Mary (Dave) Nadolny of Waukesha and Emy (Marty) Wood of Waukesha.  Dear grandfather of Corrina, Peter, Dean, Heather, Etta, Emily, Erin, Haley, Destry, Sara, Ian, Rachel and Jordan Mae; great-grandfather of Lola, Greyden, Luna, Olivia and baby Andre who is due in November.  He is further survived by his sisters Mary (Alfredo) Marquez of Waukesha, Jane (Frank) Marchan of Waukesha, Fidela Ybarra of El Paso, Texas and Susie (Santos) Gomez of Milwaukee; brothers Angelo Llanas of Waukesha, Pablo Llanas of Muskego, Inez (Carmen) Llanas of Waukesha, Walter (Angie) Llanas of Waukesha, Isidro (Dora) Llanas of Waukesha and Charlie Llanas of Waukesha, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his infant son John Mark, brothers Christobal Llanas and Juan Llanas; sisters Josefina Llanas and Socorro Torres and sisters-in-law Frances Llanas, Janie Llanas and Sara Llanas as well as his parents.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha with a vigil service at 8:00 PM.  Services continue at the funeral home on Friday, October 22, beginning at 9:30 AM   followed by the procession to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha  for the 10:30 AM Funeral Mass.
