Pedro "Pete" L. Cruz Sr.

Pedro L. “Pete” Cruz, Sr., of Waukesha, died on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 72. He was born in Harlingen, Texas on March 6, 1940 the son of Ricardo and Dorotea (nee Lerma) Cruz. Pete owned and operated Pete’s Place, Pete & Danny’s and the Cruz Club. While owner of Pete’s Place he sponsored softball teams and he enjoyed running a billards league in Waukesha. He was a member of the Waukesha Tavern League.

He will be sadly missed by his son Pedro (Rose) Cruz, Jr. and his daughter Diana (Salvador) Martinez both of Waukesha, his grandchildren: Salvador, Jr., Antonio, Martin, Victoria and Marcos Martinez, and Gina, Daniel, Jr., Miranda, Dylan and Hayleh Cruz and his two great-grandchildren Yesenia and Antonio, Jr. He is further survived by his siblings: Fidencio (Tomasa) Cruz, twin brother Pablo (Susie) Cruz, Maria “Cuca” (the late Eziquiel, Sr.) Mendez, Carmela (the late Andres) Perez, Chelo (Santos) Saenz, Elvira (Max) Garza, Eduvijes (the late Jose) Lara, the late Ricardo (Rebecca) Cruz, the late Nasario (Herminia) Cruz and the late Juan (Leonor) Cruz along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Daniel Cruz on November 7, 2005, and by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A prayer service will be held Thursday at 6:00 PM. Visitation continues on Friday, November 30th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at First Assembly of God, 1314 S. Grand Ave. Waukesha. Rev. Todd Pope and Rev. Ryan Mustered will preside. Graveside services will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
