Phillip J. Strazzinski formerly of Racine, died on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at AngelsGrace Hospice surrounded by his loving family at the age of 82. He was born in Swanson, MI on August 23, 1937 the oldest of four children of John and Mary (nee Susko) Strazzinski. Phillip attended Michigan State’s Agriculture Program from 1955 to 1956. On May 2, 1964 he married the love of his life Barbara DeHahn at St. Stanislaus Parish in Racine; she preceded him in death. He worked as a pressman from 1957 until 1998 at Western Publishing in Racine. His contribution to children books was always very appreciated by his family. Phillip was always the family storyteller, especially of their family history which will be missed. Following his retirement, he loved the adventure of road-trips in search of antiques and casinos with his wife Barbara until her death in 2009. In recent years, he lived his adventures through his grandchildren’s growth into adulthood. He also became a talented scroll saw woodworker and cut many wood creations, especially carrying crosses for ICU patients. He leaves many relatives and friends behind and sends his love to all.
He will be sadly missed by his two children, Theresa (Michael) Kelly and David (Jamie) Strazzinski and his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Bryant) and Nicholas (Penelope). He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to his friends and staff at the Muskego Regency Lodge and AngelsGrace Hospice.
Always remember to “Make me proud”
