Rafael R. Lazcano, of Waukesha, died on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 95. He was born in El Potrero de los Indios, Mexico on June 20, 1919 the son of Rafael and Teodula (nee Reyes) Lazcano. He worked for General Castings for many years until his retirement in 1982. Rafael enjoyed music, singing and candy but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He found great joy in helping many people move from Mexico to Waukesha. Rafael was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Templo La Hermosa Pentecostal Church.
He will be sadly missed by his 10 children, Josefa (Lauro) Melero, Epifanio (Leonila) Lazcano, Petra (Donicio) Borrego, Concepcion (the late Lazaro) Perez, Guadalupe Lazcano, Magdalena (Alejandro) Garcia, Jose (Consuelo) Lazcano, Maria (Victor) Yañez, Rafael (Mari Isela) Lazcano and Maria (Danny) Barker and his 34 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Guadalupe and his brothers Bonifacio and Manuel.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha. Visitation continues on Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 9:30AM until the time of the 10:30AM funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Avenue, Waukesha. Father Bill Key will preside. Graveside services will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to the family.
