Ray J. Terry of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at AngelsGrace Hospice at the age of 84. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan on November 16, 1933 the son of Karl and Bertha (nee Parish) Terry. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. On August 31, 1957 he married his wife Sonja Welch in Bear Lake, Michigan. Ray worked for Waukesha Engine until his retirement in 1999. In retirement, he enjoyed working his favorite job as parking enforcement for the City of Waukesha Police Department. He was a member of the Waukesha Engine Old Timers Club and the Waukesha Old Car Club. Ray enjoyed working with the Deaf Association in Waukesha and volunteering with the Boy Scouts. He was an avid bicycle rider, loved to sail his boat and enjoyed woodworking and photography.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 60 years, Sonja of Waukesha and their children Paul (Colleen) Terry of Waukesha and Lisa Terry of Milwaukee. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Joyce Buell.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until time of the 7:00 p.m. memorial service at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Avenue, Waukesha, WI. Interment will be held on Tuesday, March 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Prairie Home Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery.
