PALMYRA—Raymond M. Plehn, of Palmyra, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 83. He was born on June 16, 1925 in Waukesha, the son of Max and Ida (nee: Weimeier) Plehn. He proudly served his country from 1943-1946 in the U.S. Navy during World War II on PT boat #130 in the South Pacific. On June 21, 1947 he married the former Joyce Miller. He was the owner and operator of Plehn Plastering Company of Waukesha for 39 years. Ray was a member of Soat-Vergenz VFW Post #721, 40et8 in Jefferson County and Thomas Holcomb American Legion Post #304 in Palmyra. He was a very active member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church where he served on various committees. He will be sadly missed by his wife Joyce of Palmyra, along with their children Susan (Robert) Haviland of Lake Mills, Kerry (Brenda) Plehn of Waukesha and Sally (Marty) Dzelzkalns of Hartland. Dear grandfather of Amber Dzelzkalns and Brian and Brad Plehn. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Richard and Edward Plehn. Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 28 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm and conclude with military honors. Private family burial will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery on Monday.
