Richard Aehl

Richard “Dick” F. Aehl of Waukesha formerly of Libertyville, IL was born to Eternal Life on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the age of 85. He was born in Milwaukee on December 3, 1938 the son of Thaddeus J. and Kathryn (Forestal) Aehl. Dick was a proud graduate of University of Wisconsin-Madison and later earned his master’s degree. He began his career working for the Boy Scouts of America for two years and then taught elementary education in Waukegan, IL. Dick went on to work for many years as an English teacher at Libertyville High School where he developed a Sci-Fi literature course before his retirement in 1994. Beyond his professional endeavors, Dick found joy in motorcycling, camping, exploring national parks, and indulging in musicals and symphony music.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter Kathleen Aehl of Libertyville, IL, his brothers James P. (Carol) Aehl and John T. (the late Susan) Aehl, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carolyn (Vater) Aehl and his cherished son Kenneth Aehl. 

A private family service was held.
