Richard “Dick” J. Nettesheim, of Waukesha, found eternal peace on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. He was born on July 18, 1938, in Waukesha to Walbert and Dorothy (nee Eckert) Nettesheim. He was a 1957 graduate of Catholic Memorial High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. On May 18, 1963, he married his lovely bride, Marlene Kay Stangel at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Richard was known for his gift in building and woodworking, owning his own business for more than 20 years. Many projects were completed with his best friend, Peter Kopp, at his side. Richard was an active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, working along with Rev. Gary Liedtke and his fellow Amigos completing many woodworking projects, treasuring their company and friendship. Dick was especially proud of building the churches three car garage, complete with a lighted church steeple.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years, Marlene of Waukesha, his daughter and son-in-law Jill and Mike Osterman, his son Timothy and two grandchildren Mikayla and Michael Osterman. Richard is also survived by his sister and her husband Nancy and Glen Schmolze and their children Tommy (Karen) Schmolze and Marlee (Barry) Calloway. In addition, he is survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wayne and Anna Stangel and their children Deana (Bill) Wise and Mark Stangel, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Barbara and Bob Cable and their daughter Jenny Cable.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the 4:00 p.m. funeral service at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll Street, Waukesha, WI 53186. Reverend Kathy Boadwine will preside. Graveside services with full military honors will be held Wednesday, January 6th at 11:00AM at Summit Cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Richard’s honor to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Building Fund.
