Richard “Dick” H. Pfeiffer of Pewaukee died on Thursday, October 3, 2019 surrounded by his family at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 76. He was born in Milwaukee on January 10, 1943 the son of Anthony and Lillian (nee Luepke) Pfeiffer. Dick was a graduate of Boys Tech High School and earned his Civil Engineering degree from UW-Milwaukee. On June 3, 1967 he married Edith Elias: she preceded him in death on January 18, 2000. He then married Sandie (nee Andressohn) Richards on May 3, 2003. Dick spent his career working as a traffic engineer for the State of Wisconsin, but he always said his favorite job was working his paper route growing up as a child. Dick was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Waukesha for many years. He found joy in volunteering at the food pantry and his grandchildren’s schools. Although he enjoyed various activities, Dick was most proud of being a hobby train enthusiast and being his grandchildren’s biggest fan at their sporting and school events. He will always be remembered for his loyalty to his family and friends and as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 16 years, Sandie of Pewaukee, his children, Julie (Drew) Blischke of Waukesha, Jason (Amy) Pfeiffer of Pewaukee, his stepchildren, Chris (Bridget) Richards of Milwaukee, Kim (Curt) Keller of Waukesha and Becky (Josh) Hastings of Waukesha. He was the proud grandfather of Caleb and Ethan Blischke and Claire and Emma Pfeiffer, and step-grandchildren, Bryce, Garret and Cody Richards, Kianna, Kariss, Kaylee and Kieran Keller, and Brianna and Brittany Klotz, and great-grandfather of Jameson and Bennett. He is further survived by his sister, Patricia (the late Bill) Loth along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his first wife, Edith and his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Donald (Marilyn) Pfeiffer.
