Richard L. Hathway, of Waukesha, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Seasons Hospice at the age of 87 years following a short illness. He was born in Waukesha on September 12, 1926 the son of John and Irene (nee Sprague) Hathway. Richard graduated from Waukesha High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Military Police with the 35th regiment stationed in Japan at the end of World War II. He worked at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha for 45 years until his retirement in 1988.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Judith A. Hathway of Middleton, Shirley “Jeanne” DeRosier of Omaha, NE, Lee F. (Angie) Hathway of Frisco, TX and Janice E. (Jim) Webber of Mukwonago along with other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jack.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 11:30AM until 1:00PM at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. A procession will follow the visitation departing the funeral home at 1:00PM for burial with full military honors at Prairie Home Cemetery.
