Richard J. Monosso of Waukesha, WI, the greatest father on the planet passed in peace in the loving arms of his children on March 23, 2021 at the age of 83.
Richard was born in Kaukauna, WI in 1937 and raised in Kingsford, MI. At the age of 18, Richard dedicated his life to public service. The day after high school graduation, Richard enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he spent the next eight years protecting our nation and traveling the world. He retired from the service honorably in 1963, with the rank of Buck Sergeant. He later served the city of Kingsford as a police officer, before earning a Bachelor of Science in social work at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Richard then served Waukesha County for two and a half decades as a social worker, retiring with pride in 2000.
He loved the U.P., boating, fishing, camping, his Green Bay Packers, the Kingsford Flivvers, and most of all, his children and grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by, his daughter Jodi Monosso, his sister MaryAnn, and his mother and father Bernice and Wallace Monosso.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Monosso and the mother of his children, Janice Coyne.
Loving father of Stacy Monosso (Jennifer Kuhl), Susan (Chris) Peck, Jeff (Andrea) Monosso, Jason Monosso (Maegan Smith).
Proud Grandpa to Ashtin Peck, Lauren Peck, Nolan Monosso, Grace Monosso, William Monosso, Rose Monosso and Abigail Monosso.
Richard is further survived by his brothers Lawrence (Maria) Monosso and Arnold (Jane) Monosso, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
A Catholic mass will take place at 12 p.m. Monday, March 29th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave, Waukesha, WI. A public graveside service, with full military honors will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery at 605 S Prairie Ave. Waukesha, WI.
