Richard A. “Obie” Oberhofer, age 85, of Waukesha, passed away Friday, Mar. 29, 2019, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
Loving husband of Kathleen and caring father of Nathan, Matthew and Sarah (Jared) Messner. Grandfather of Natalie, Nicholas, Anthony, Alec, Jacob and Ella Oberhofer and Annabel Martinez. Brother of Thomas (Young) Oberhofer.
Richard was born in Milwaukee, WI the son of Anton and Leone (Woller) Oberhofer on Nov. 29, 1933. He was a 1951 graduate of Juneau High School. Richard married Kathleen (nee Marr) on Feb. 22, 1964, at Nathaniel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Richard was a proud pharmacist and co-owner of the Hoehle Drug Stores in Waukesha. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate from the Pharmacy School at UW-Madison. Richard enjoyed the Wisconsin outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing, attending Badger Football games and spending time at the cottage in northern Wisconsin with his family.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1052 White Rock Ave, Waukesha, WI 53186 from 10:00AM until the time of service at 12:00 Noon. Full military honors will follow the service. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church or HealthWell Foundation, 20440 Century Blvd., Suite 250, Germantown, MD 20874 which provided Richard with experimental medication assistance.
