Richard “Rick” P. Bennett, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Aurora VNA Zilber Family Hospice at the age of 69. He was born in Waukesha on September 6, 1944 the son of Thomas and Josephine (nee Woefl) Bennett. Rick worked as a bartender and many Waukesha establishments including, Alamo, Golden Gate Restaurant, Phantoms Edge, Soddy’s, Billy D’s and Mulligan’s. He also owned and operated Rick’s Place on National Avenue and worked at McAdams Grocery Store in Mukwonago. He loved flowers, especially his rose bush.
He will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Robert (Midge) Bennett of Waukesha, Patricia Wehr of Waukesha, Barbara Schneider of West Allis, Mary Jo Young of Ohio, Thomas (Charlene) Bennett of Texas and his sister-in-law Mary Bennett of Genesee. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother James.
Private family committal services will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rick’s name are appreciated to the family.
