Richard J. “Rick” Lokken, of Pewaukee, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 17, 2022 at his home at the age of 61. He was born on September 19, 1960, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Clayton and Mary (Disher) Lokken. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. On June 30, 1990 he married the former Lisa Crook in Wauwatosa, WI - and Rick and Lisa were close to celebrating their 32nd anniversary.
Our beloved Rick was a wonderful husband and dad whom we will treasure in our hearts forever. While he is no longer here with us, we are immensely thankful for the 14 “extra” years we got with him after cancer (his second “birthday” was May 2, 2008), yet we would give anything for even one more day with him.
Rick developed into an example of a servant leader. He maintained a positive attitude through adversity and tried to live a life by example. His talents and interests were vast - electrical engineer, technical college instructor, published author, mentor for many people for a host of subjects, youth sports coach, Boy Scout leader, trumpet player, social justice advocate, woodworker, church lay leader, and the list goes on. No one can count the number of lives touched by Rick over the years.
Rick and his steady guidance and positive attitude will be profoundly missed by his wife Lisa, along with their children Peter (Elaine Serpeloni) Lokken and their cat Abby, and Anneliese Lokken and her dog Maui. Beloved son of Clayton Lokken and the late Mary Lokken. Loving brother of Sandy (Dave) Beneke and Karen (Bob) Wilson. He is further survived by his brother-in-law Tom (Greta) Crook; sister-in-law Lynea Williams; nieces and nephews Jennifer, Lauren, Matt, Thom, Jonathan, Joseph, Deenalin, Kaelyn and Garrett; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Lokken on June 12, 2022.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 7 from 2:00pm until the 4:00pm Celebration of Life Service, with Honor Guard to follow at Redeemer United Church of Christ, W220 N4915 Town Line Rd., Menomonee Falls, WI 53051. Memorials in Rick’s name are appreciated to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, PO Box 22324, New York, NY 10087 or online at

or to Redeemer UCC (address above).
Rick was passionate about many things, including leukemia and gun safety, both of which are represented by the color orange. Rick would be delighted to have these passions honored by having everyone wear or bring something orange in remembrance of him.
Please also respect Rick’s passion for love of neighbor and protection of the most vulnerable in our community and adhere to appropriate Covid prevention steps based on the Waukesha County Community Level on the day of the service.
Rick's service will be live-streamed. To access the live-stream, please visit the church website:
