Richmond Perkins Johnston Jr., of Wales, died on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at his home at age 78. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 31, 1937 the only child of Richmond Perkins and Mildred (nee Johnston) Johnston Sr. He earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for many years at RTE-ASEA Corporation as a Mechanical Engineer. Richmond enjoyed playing both the classical and flamenco guitar and spent a lot of time enjoying the outdoors camping and canoeing.
His retirement years were full and he enjoyed play-acting for the Waukesha Civic Senior Players. He enjoyed traveling the world with a group called Friendship Force, living with families in a foreign country and hosting families. He was a member of A.R.E. and was active in organizing programs about self-help spirituality based on the work of the American psychic Edgar Cayce. He also enjoyed teaching cooking classes for seniors at the technical college. Richmond was able to combine his artistic expression along with his service to others into a full and meaningful life.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Suzy (Dan Lim) Johnston of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Warren Johnston of St. Francis, his significant other of 35 years, Cheryl Loveland of Wales and her children Andre (Karen) Loveland and Peter (Tammy) Loveland. He was the dear grandfather of Tristan and Logan Lim and Tyler and Emily Loveland. He is further survived by his nephew David (Philip Rozario) Williams, other relatives and friends.

A time to gather and celebrate Richmond’s life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015 from 12:00 pm until the time of the 2:00 pm memorial service at the Nashotah House, Adams Hall, 2777 Mission Road, Nashotah, WI 53058.
